Samsung had started rolling out the One UI 7 update on April 7, but the process was quickly halted due to widespread issues. Reports indicate that the company has temporarily paused the update for several devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, amid user complaints and concerns.
The bug was initially spotted by a leaker named Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), where he made the announcement. As several users also made mention of the issue, the Korean firm postponed its move to release the latest build worldwide.
One UI update was officially released on April 7, 2025. Within less than a week, the company had to suspend the global rollout of the update.
A Korean source says the release has been put on hold because of a bug that has caused the phone to not be able to be unlocked in the usual way and, in a few instances, some major battery drops. The buzz around the One UI 7 update being delayed is also seen on Samsung's official Korean forums.
But the recent news indicates that Samsung has already repaired the bug and is prepared to roll it out once again. According to sources, the highly awaited update is scheduled to resume today, i.e., April 15.
As Samsung explained, the update was meant to introduce a batch of features that include smoother animations, quicker opening of apps, Now Bar: a lock screen feature managing notifications, music, and other live alerts, and other AI features like AI Select, Writing Assist, and Audio Eraser.
A Samsung representative confirmed the updates, saying, "The One UI 7 rollout schedule is being revised to provide the best possible experience. The new timing and availability will be announced soon."
In spite of the initial postponement caused by unlock and battery bugs, Samsung is said to resume the One UI 7 rollout today, April 15th. Galaxy S24, S23, and foldable series users can expect the update's new features shortly, subject to official announcement of the revised timeline.
