Samsung’s One UI 9 update is approaching its stable release, with Android 19 set to reach more Galaxy smartphones. The update is expected to bring interface changes, new AI tools, privacy improvements, and battery-saving features.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Receive the Update First

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26, and Galaxy S26 Plus will receive the stable One UI 9 software first. Samsung has been testing several beta versions, and now even the stable firmware build has been spotted on the company’s server, which means the launch may not be far away.

It was reported that all three Galaxy S26 models could receive a stable software update very soon, perhaps as early as this week.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25, and Galaxy S25 Plus were recently added to the beta program. The stable version of this software is expected to come right after the S26 models, possibly at the end of September or early October.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has also entered the beta testing phase. The first One UI 9 beta was released to users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra in India, the UK, the US, and South Korea.

One UI 9 Features Expected to Arrive

One UI 9 is expected to bring a more customizable interface, along with new AI and security features. The Quick Panel could offer greater control over the placement and sizing of brightness, volume and media controls.

Samsung is also adding new creative tools to Notes, alongside accessibility and security improvements.

Battery life could be improved through changes to LTPO display behavior. Compatible LTPO panels will reportedly be able to drop to 20 Hz, 26.67 Hz or 40 Hz while displaying static content. This could help reduce battery consumption.

Other reported additions include improved privacy warnings, network restrictions for individual apps, enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities, a PDF reader, and greater multitasking capabilities.

The company has not announced whether all expected features will be included in the update; hence, some details may change until the actual release of the stable build.

At present, users of the Galaxy S26 Ultra seem to be getting One UI 9 soon, and those of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra are next in line.
