Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 devices in India on Wednesday, offering improved designs and enhanced performance with additional AI capabilities. The company launched these new foldable smartphones in the Indian market during the Galaxy Unpacked Event in London and is now taking advance orders.
Samsung’s new foldable phones are designed to be portable but still offer flagship-level performance. In contrast to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has an enlarged ‘passport-style’ design to make the device easier to hold in one hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 combines the compact clamshell design with a larger, more functional cover display and a lightweight body.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes with a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable display and a 5.5-inch exterior display.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The smartphone also introduces improved multitasking features, enhanced Galaxy AI tools and a refined hinge mechanism designed to reduce the visibility of the display crease.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 retains its flip-style design but arrives with a larger 6.9-inch foldable AMOLED display and a 4.1-inch cover screen that now supports more native apps and widgets without opening the phone.
The company has made the device thinner and lighter, which makes it the thinnest flip phone ever launched by Samsung. This phone comes with a 4,300mAh battery and supports AI features such as personalized widgets and productivity features that can be seen on the cover display.

The starting price for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 in India is Rs 1,19,999. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 price starts at Rs 1,74,999 in India. Both new Galaxy Z series models have opened pre-orders in the country. Deliveries for both phones are expected to start within a month. Customers will get launch offers through Samsung’s offline and online channels.
It seems that Samsung is really focusing on its premium foldables with the new Fold and Flip series.
