Samsung may keep the same 12-megapixel selfie camera on the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ next year, according to a new report. The phones are expected to launch in early 2027 across India and other global markets. The reported decision would maintain Samsung’s existing selfie camera specifications on its standard models, while premium variants may receive an upgrade.
Dutch publication GalaxyClub reports that both standard models could retain the front camera used in recent Galaxy S generations. Samsung has used a 12-megapixel selfie sensor since the Galaxy S23 series arrived in February 2023. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra may feature a newer 16-megapixel front camera.
The rumored 16-megapixel sensor would offer higher resolution than the 12-megapixel camera expected on the standard models. Samsung has not confirmed these camera specifications, so the reported differences remain unverified. The company may reserve its most notable selfie camera upgrade for the premium variants.
The Galaxy S27 and S27+ may also retain a triple rear camera setup, according to the report. The configuration could include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. Samsung may upgrade the primary camera while keeping the other two sensors unchanged.
Samsung’s next flagship lineup may include four devices: the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. The rumored Pro model would expand the range beyond the three models expected in the current generation. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed the lineup or launch plans.
Pricing rumors suggest the Galaxy S27 could start at USD 899 in the United States. The Galaxy S27+ may begin at USD 1,099, while prices could vary across international markets. These early estimates remain unconfirmed, and Samsung has yet to announce official pricing or specifications.
The camera reports suggest Samsung may differentiate its upcoming models through selective hardware upgrades. Buyers will need to wait for official details to confirm the final camera features.
