This leak appeared just a few days before GTA 6's official gameplay showcase on Netflix on August 27.
These leaks affected Take-Two Interactive's shares, but for a long time Rockstar remained completely silent. However, some developers were extremely upset at seeing their efforts wasted like this. To cheer them up, a high-ranking executive from Rockstar Games sent an email to developers stating that these leaks won’t spoil their excellent work over the years.
The leak also caused trouble inside Rockstar. However, reports say staff were told the company’s plans have not changed and that the August 27 Extended Look will proceed as planned. The studio is also reportedly frustrated by the incident. Take-Two has asked Microsoft and Discord to provide information that could help identify the people behind the leaks.
The biggest question now is not just how much footage has leaked. It is how someone got access to the game in the first place. The leaked clips appear to come from a playable version of GTA 6. This has made the situation more serious for Rockstar. The company now needs to find the source while stopping more material from spreading.
