Polygon has ranked fifth among weekly blockchain growers on Alchemy, adding 50 billion usage units as activity increased 3.6%. The latest figures follow an earlier daily ranking, in which Polygon held second place with a 7.5% increase. Base now leads the weekly growth rankings, while BNB Chain holds first place for daily growth.

Polygon Adds 50 Billion Usage Units Over the Week

According to Alchemy’s latest rankings, Polygon recorded the fifth-largest weekly increase in usage units among the listed networks. Base, BNB Chain, Optimism and Arbitrum occupied the four positions above it. Polygon’s weekly gain reached 50 billion units, compared with Arbitrum’s increase of 58 billion.

Base led with 426 billion additional usage units and growth of 24%. BNB Chain followed with an increase of 87 billion units, up 4.4%. Optimism ranked third after adding 79 billion units, representing a 21% rise, while Arbitrum recorded growth of 4.9%.

The weekly figures compare increases across networks with different starting levels of activity. Optimism recorded a larger percentage gain than BNB Chain, although BNB Chain added more usage units. Similarly, Polygon’s fifth-place position reflects the size of its increase in units within the growth table.

About 15 hours earlier, Polygon ranked second in the daily standings after adding 15 billion usage units. Its 7.5% increase followed Robinhood, which added 22 billion units with growth of 4.3%. Solana ranked third with a rounded increase of 15 billion units and a 7.9% gain.

BNB Chain and Solana Lead Latest Daily Growth

The latest daily rankings place BNB Chain first with an increase of 12 billion usage units and growth of 3.9%. Solana follows in second place, adding a rounded 12 billion units with a 5.6% increase. Polygon is absent from the current daily top five.

Arc holds third place after adding 9.4 billion usage units, up 17%. Avalanche follows with an increase of 4.4 billion units and growth of 9%. ApeChain completes the daily top five with four billion additional units and a 35% gain.

ApeChain recorded the highest percentage increase among the five daily leaders, while BNB Chain took first place by the displayed increase in usage units. The ranking therefore distinguishes the amount of additional activity from its percentage change.

Over the monthly period, Robinhood leads with 7.6 trillion additional usage units and growth of 78%. Base follows with 1.5 trillion units, up 23%. Solana, Arc and Ethereum complete the monthly top five, with increases of 1.2 trillion, 1.2 trillion and 882 billion units, respectively.

Alchemy Tracks Computing Activity Across Blockchains

Alchemy explained that usage units measure computing work performed through its platform. The measure covers reading blockchain data and submitting transactions. Because individual tasks require varying amounts of work, usage units extend beyond a simple count of transactions or requests.

Applications can generate activity by checking balances or retrieving blockchain records. Such requests contribute to computing usage even when they produce no new transaction. Polygon’s weekly increase consequently refers to additional computing units recorded through Alchemy.

The growth rankings cover platform activity across daily, weekly and monthly periods. They provide no figures for Polygon token purchases, exchange trading volume or new wallet holders. Polygon’s latest recorded position remains fifth for weekly growth, following its earlier second-place daily result.
