POCO will launch its new X8 Power 5G in India on September 4 at 12 PM. The phone will arrive alongside the POCO X8 5G, and both models will be sold through Flipkart. The biggest highlight of the X8 Power 5G is its massive 10,000mAh battery, the largest ever fitted in a POCO phone. The company says it can deliver up to 3.5 days of video playback on a single charge.
The X8 Power 5G supports 100W wired charging, which should help it charge fast despite its huge battery size. It also offers 27W reverse charging, so users can charge other gadgets like earbuds or another phone using this device.
POCO has added extra features too, including bypass charging, PPS charging, and smart charging. Both new phones come with a six-year battery life rating, showing that POCO wants to focus on long-term battery health and not just battery size.
According to early reports, the X8 Power 5G may come with a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is likely to run on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
On camera, the phone may get a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 32-megapixel front camera. The standard POCO X8 5G will also carry a large 9,000 mAh battery with 67 W charging and 22.5 W reverse charging support. None of these specs are confirmed yet.
With two phones offering unusually large batteries, POCO is clearly aiming at buyers who care more about battery backup than a slim design. Full pricing, storage options, and other details will be revealed at the September 4 launch event.
