Pathos AI signed two collaborations with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and Tempus AI to accelerate drug development for neurological disorders. The partnerships mark the New York-based biotech’s first major move beyond oncology and place Alzheimer’s disease at the center of its new neuroscience strategy.

The company will combine its agentic AI platform, Foundry, with Tempus’ large-scale clinical datasets and BMS’ neuroscience expertise. The three companies aim to combine clinical data and AI tools to support the design of clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.

BMS Secures Platform Access

Under the BMS agreement, the pharmaceutical major will join Pathos’ upcoming Series E funding round. In return, BMS gains non-exclusive rights to use the Foundry platform across its wider portfolio.

BMS also receives three-year exclusive rights to deploy the platform in neuroscience research and development. The deal gives Pathos access to BMS’ clinical development expertise, while BMS can use AI-driven insights to improve its understanding of disease progression and trial design.

BMS already has a growing neuroscience portfolio. It is studying its schizophrenia drug Cobenfy for agitation and psychosis linked to Alzheimer’s disease and is developing an anti-tau antibody in Phase 2 trials.

Tempus to Build Patient Dataset

Pathos has separately commissioned Tempus AI to create a comprehensive dataset covering hundreds of thousands of patients with neurological conditions. The five-year contract is worth USD 55 million. The dataset will support adaptive clinical trials by giving researchers a deeper view of patient journeys, disease progression and treatment outcomes.

Tempus already works closely with BMS. Earlier this year, the two companies expanded their partnership to improve the chances of success across oncology and neuroscience clinical programs. The collaborations could strengthen Pathos’ position in AI-enabled drug development and help BMS and Tempus use clinical data to inform treatment research.
