Following four successful seasons, Panchayat is all set to come up with another one, and fans might have to wait only a short while longer. The much-loved show, famous for its storytelling and realistic depiction of village life, will reportedly continue the storyline of Abhishek Tripathi, along with other villagers of Phulera.
The show has managed to build a solid fan base by finding humor in everyday life rather than in crime or surprises. The essence of village politics, relations, and friendships has always been central to the show.
Director Deepak Kumar Mishra has recently provided details about the next season in an interview with India Today. “The editing process is currently underway. The exact release date has not been finalized yet. It could be around October or November,” he said.
This means the fifth season could arrive as early as October, although an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
Season 4 brought a major political change to Phulera. The village election became the center of the story, with Manju Devi and Kranti Devi competing for the post of Pradhan. Kranti Devi finally emerged as the winner and became the new Pradhan, replacing Manju Devi.
Abhishek, on the other hand, remained employed in the office as the village secretary while preparing for the CAT exam. Finally, his hard work bore fruit when he cleared the CAT exam.

The forthcoming season might deal with what Abhishek does after clearing the CAT exam. Abhishek might have a chance to leave the village to have a brighter future. But leaving his village would be difficult for him.
The romantic relationship between Abhishek and Rinki can also be expected to get some screen time. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Pradhan, Kranti Devi, might bring new political struggles in Phulera.
The old characters are expected to return to action, including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy.
The season will air on Amazon Prime Video.
