Thousands of users reported problems with ChatGPT on Friday as OpenAI's popular chatbot suffered a widespread outage affecting multiple regions.

Many user reports claimed that the service failed to execute commands, displayed error messages, and took longer to load the chat screen. Some users could not see any chat history in the app, while others were unable to send replies.

There were an alarming number of complaints on websites tracking outages from users facing similar problems.

OpenAI Services Beyond ChatGPT are Affected

It didn’t appear to be just an issue with ChatGPT itself, as there were several reports of problems with other OpenAI products for coding and development.

Various pictures from different social media platforms have emerged showing issues such as blank chat screens, error messages, and messages that never reached their intended recipients. There have even been instances where users couldn’t access their saved chats.

This issue has apparently been experienced by individuals worldwide, including in countries such as India, America, and Europe.

Users Turn to Social Media for Updates

In light of ongoing problems with its services, affected customers began seeking advice on social media about whether other users had similar experiences with ChatGPT.

Hashtags had been used for the ChatGPT outages before, as people began inquiring about the status of its recovery. The occurrence was also a topic of discussion as we came to realize our reliance on technologies such as ChatGPT.

Company Yet to Provide Detailed Explanation

The issue was detected by OpenAI using their status monitoring systems. Yet no additional data was shared regarding the cause of this disruption or the timeline for restoring full access.

The point is that this case is not the first one concerning the company. Earlier, their products, including ChatGPT, had been blocked due to certain issues; however, those issues were resolved over time.

The users were asked to follow up with the latest news from the platform.
