OnePlus reportedly plans to launch the OnePlus 13R in January 2025, signaling an exciting shift in the affordable flagship smartphone market. This model serves as the successor to the OnePlus 12R, boasting significant enhancements that set it apart from its predecessor.
OnePlus 13R come with a bigger 6.78 inches 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz higher refresh rate and better peak brightness than the current gen.
This ensures vivid visuals and smooth interactions, perfect for gaming and media consumption. The main architecture is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage that will enable users to execute challenging tasks effectively.
The camera receives most significant update, as a 50MP telephoto lens is added to the mix. The 50MP primary sensor and 8MP ultra wide angle lens go hand in hand to offer a wide-reaching photography platform. The telephoto lens replaces the 2MP macro camera of the OnePlus 12R which is not as popular a feature and the camera is much more versatile and high quality.
The battery capacity in the OnePlus 13R will be 6000mAh, which will allow the device to have longer usage duration. It also comes with 80W wired charging which makes it easy to recharge whenever there is need to do so.
More are Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC, and the in-display fingerprint scanner. According to rumors it is expected to feature IP68/IP69 durability ratings to ascertain protection from dust and water. It will be shipped with OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, so users will have a clean and optimized interface.
As per the report, it is believed that OnePlus 13R will be rebadged model of the OnePlus Ace 5 to hit the Chinese market this month, toward the end. OnePlus has been well known for offering flagship experience at a relatively affordable price and this should be in line with that legacy.
