OKX has launched a USD 100,000 Dev Day competition for developers building projects with X Layer or OKX AI, with applications remaining open until September 11, 2026. The initiative targets projects involving real-world asset infrastructure, tokenized stock applications, agent APIs, and AI-native products. Developers can participate either in person or remotely.

At the same time, OKX founder Star Xu and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao have revived a public dispute linked to events at OKCoin more than a decade ago.

OKX Targets RWA and AI Projects with USD 100K Contest

The Dev Day competition invites developers to create products using X Layer or OKX AI. The total prize pool stands at USD 100,000. OKX identified several areas for potential projects. These include RWA infrastructure, tokenized stock applications, agent APIs, and products designed around artificial intelligence.

Remote developers can also enter the competition. Applications remain open until September 11, giving participants a limited period to submit their projects. X Layer focuses on infrastructure for real-world assets and tokenized applications. Through Dev Day, OKX is seeking more developer activity around those areas.

The supplied market information lists XLayerOfficial at USD 0 with no reported trading volume during the previous 24 hours. The competition announcement focuses instead on development and project creation. Can OKX's USD 100,000 developer push expand activity around X Layer while its founder remains engaged in a public dispute with one of crypto's best-known executives?

Star Xu and CZ Revive Decade-Old OKCoin Dispute

Separately, Star Xu and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, have exchanged accusations on X over events dating back to 2015. The dispute resurfaced after Zhao released a memoir that he wrote during his time in prison. Xu challenged Zhao's description of his period at OKCoin, the predecessor to OKX.

Xu pointed to a video that he said showed conflicting versions of a contract from that period. He also accused Zhao of repeatedly misleading the public.

The disagreement centers partly on a contract dispute involving early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver. Zhao wrote that Xu had accused him of forging a contract without warning. Zhao said he denied the allegation in a Reddit post in May 2015. He also said that post described problems he believed existed at OKCoin.

Personal Questions Escalate Exchange Between Crypto Founders

The public argument later moved beyond the original contract dispute. Xu questioned whether Zhao had accurately represented his marital status. Xu referred to earlier reporting that described Zhao's spouse as his wife in a letter submitted to a judge. Zhao responded by proposing a USD 1 billion wager.

Zhao said the bet would concern whether his divorce had already been finalized. He gave Xu 24 hours to accept the proposed wager. Xu declined, citing compliance obligations. He then asked whether Zhao's Binance ownership stake underwent a legal separation as part of any divorce arrangement.

Zhao rejected that question and said the matter was private. Their exchange continued publicly while OKX promoted its new developer competition.

A Brief Roundup

OKX is offering USD 100,000 for developers building X Layer and OKX AI projects, with applications closing September 11. Meanwhile, Star Xu and CZ have revived a 2015 dispute involving contract allegations and later personal questions, bringing renewed attention to their long-running disagreement.
