Nscale has raised $2 billion in a Series C round, valuing the UK-based AI infrastructure company at $14.6 billion. The company said the funding will support expansion across Europe, North America, and Asia. Rising demand for AI computing capacity continues to attract large investors to the sector.

Nscale Draws Major Investors into AI Infrastructure

Nscale said Aker ASA and 8090 Industries led the Series C round. NVIDIA also joined the investor group. Other backers included Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, and Point72. The company said the round shows broad interest in AI infrastructure.

Nscale builds platforms for GPU computing, networking, data services, and orchestration software. It uses that structure to support AI training, inference, and deployment. The company said customers need integrated systems as AI workloads become larger and more complex.

Chief executive Josh Payne said artificial intelligence is driving a major global infrastructure buildout. He said Nscale aims to provide the computing foundation required for broader AI adoption. His comments reflect the company’s focus on long-term capacity growth.

Expansion Plans Target Key Global Markets

Nscale said it operates infrastructure in Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It also works with partner-operated sites in Portugal and Iceland. The company said the new capital will help expand that footprint into more regions.

Modern AI models need large GPU clusters and high-speed networking. They also need storage, software layers, and reliable power access. Nscale said its vertically integrated platform helps customers access those resources through one operating structure.

The company has also announced large commercial partnerships linked to its growth plans. Nscale said its expanded Microsoft partnership could generate about $14 billion in business. It also partnered with OpenAI and Aker on the Stargate Norway AI data centre project.

Board Appointments and Structure Changes Shape the Next Phase

Alongside the funding round, Nscale announced three new board appointments. Sheryl Sandberg, Nick Clegg, and Susan Decker joined the board. The company said its experience will support governance, strategy, and global expansion.

Nscale also said the Aker-Nscale joint venture will move fully into its corporate structure. Aker will remain a major shareholder in the business. The company said existing projects under that arrangement will continue without disruption.

Nscale has also said it is considering an initial public offering. The latest raise strengthens its position in a fast-growing AI infrastructure market. As AI spending rises, companies building data centres and compute platforms continue attracting strong investor demand.
