Nothing has officially announced the arrival of the Nothing Phone (3) in India, marking its entry into the flagship smartphone segment. Launched at a global event in the UK, this device offers a premium combination of design, performance, and AI-powered features. With an updated Glyph interface, a Snapdragon chipset, and long-term software support, the Phone (3) is the most advanced smartphone released by the company to date.
The Nothing Phone (3) has a modern, geometric shape with a tri-column layout that allows its modular aesthetic to be fully expressed. It has improved grip thanks to the R-angle shape that has been reworked in this second iteration. The rear panel has a brand-new lighting interface called Glyph Matrix with more micro-LEDs to visually communicate incoming calls, app alerts, and system functions.
This Glyph interface can also be used for Flip to Record, Essential Clock, line loading, and progress bar functions, adding an interactive nature to the feature. Two colors will be available to consumers, black and white, with a transparent rear casing that reflects the brand’s signature design philosophy.
Powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the Phone (3) offers a 36% improvement in CPU performance and an 88% enhancement in GPU performance over the previous generation phones. The device boasts enhanced image recognition by 125% and boosted AI processing.
The smartphone also offers a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and adaptive refresh rates varying between 30 Hz and 120 Hz. The panel sports 4,500 nits HDR brightness, a 1,000 Hz touch sampling rate, and 2,160 Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort. Uniform bezels of 1.87 mm surround the screen, giving the phone a balanced and immersive feel.
The camera system on Nothing Phone (3) features a 50MP main sensor (1/1.3" size) with OIS, making 4K video recording at 60fps possible on all lenses. The triple camera array works well in capturing images even in poor lighting, with cinematic video presets and accurate color rendering.
On the power side, we have a 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Wired fast charging 65 W is supported, as well as 15 W wireless charging. The usage time is enormous even for customers who have resource-consuming apps. Wired charging will only take 54 minutes to charge the battery from zero to full.
Under the hood, the device features Nothing OS 3.5, which is outfitted with Android 15. This makes sure that Nothing Phone 3 runs smoothly. The company has also guaranteed future updates that will appear in Android 16 and Nothing OS 4.0 in Q3 2025. This means that major Android updates will be available to the user for five years, and security patches will keep the software reliable for seven years.
It also offers Essential Space and Essential Search, AI-based features that use transcription, summary, and organization for content management smoothly. One of its novel utilities allows the user to start screenless voice recording by simply placing the device face down on a smooth surface with its screen facing down.
