Motorola is preparing to unveil its Signature 27 flagship smartphone on November 5, 2026. The upcoming device is expected to bring significant upgrades to its display, camera and processing capabilities, with a 200-megapixel periscope camera and a claimed peak display brightness of 12,000 nits among its biggest highlights.
A Motorola-backed hands-on preview by YouTuber Danny Winget has offered a closer look at the smartphone ahead of its launch. The preview reveals details about its 6.8-inch Tandem OLED display, Qualcomm processor, camera hardware and cooling system.
Signature 27 is set to get the 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display based on the Tandem OLED technology. This screen has the ability to work at the 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and a reported maximum brightness of 12,000 nits. Stacked light emitting layers are used to increase the brightness and efficiency of the device.
As for the internal specifications, the mobile phone will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. Its configuration contains 16GB of the LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of the UFS 4.1 storage.
Motorola has developed the ArcticMesh thermal management solution, which features the redesigned vapour chamber. The manufacturer reports that it is 40% bigger than its predecessor.
Another key feature of this phone is the 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that offers up to 100x AI zoom capability. The rear camera configuration of the phone also features a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 main camera with LOFIC technology, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and an Action camera.
Additionally, Motorola will introduce the Video Enhancement Engine that provides colour processing and stabilisation depending on the scene. Nonetheless, the performance of the camera in real-life usage and especially when using high zoom capabilities and in poor lighting conditions has yet to be assessed.
Signature 27 will run Android 17 and receive seven major Android operating system upgrades, along with up to seven years of security updates. Its stereo speakers will feature audio tuning by Bang & Olufsen.
The device is also expected to receive GrapheneOS support, with initial Motorola support targeted for 2027. However, availability of versions with GrapheneOS preinstalled has not been confirmed.
Motorola has not yet disclosed the smartphone's battery capacity or charging speeds. These details remain important considerations, particularly given its large display and powerful processor.
