Players of Minecraft across India and the United States encountered an unexpected disruption Thursday evening when the game failed to load, froze mid-screen, or refused to connect to servers. Thousands of users said, ‘Minecraft is down,’ while many were simply unable to access their worlds.
Outage-tracking platforms showed a sharp and steady spike in issues around 7 PM IST, confirming it was a widespread problem. Although the company has not confirmed the cause, the symptoms all pointed to a server-side failure affecting users across devices.
At the height of the outage, more than 3,000 complaints were recorded on tracking sites. Most of them claimed that the game servers were unreachable, but those who tried to log in did so unsuccessfully several times. Others said that although the game was loading, it ran very poorly with long delays.
The pattern, therefore, showed that this was not a region-specific problem. The same was true for players across PC, console, and mobile. Thus, the disruption was global rather than tied to a single platform.
With the game temporarily unusable, Minecraft players took to X to vent their frustration. Some claimed the lag ruined their evening break, while others joked about being ‘forced offline’ and having to find something else to do.
Several users who had prepared for marathon sessions in the game expressed disappointment, saying it happened just when they got on.
Confusion mounted when ARC Raiders players reported similar experiences around the same time. The number of users reporting problems on trackers was close to 20,000, showing a failure to load and repeated disconnections that hinted at related disruptions on multiple services.

The Minecraft slowdown comes amid a week in which repeated outages on various online platforms were reported. It all began with a large-scale outage at Cloudflare, which disrupted access to many popular services such as ChatGPT, Canvas, and Perplexity.
Afterwards, users in India and other parts of the world raised complaints about problems with Google Meet, Netflix, Fortnite, and other major services. The frequency of such incidents has caused unease among online communities, as many outages have occurred during peak hours.
Minecraft has not issued an official explanation yet. Complaints have gradually decreased, which may indicate that services are recovering. Players have become gun-shy after repeated glitches. It remains to be seen how Mojang Studios and Microsoft will respond to the questions raised and when they will address their corrections.
