Minecraft Dungeons II, the sequel to Mojang Studios’ dungeon-crawling action-adventure game, launches on September 29, 2026. The game brings a new storyline, unexplored locations, expanded combat mechanics and multiplayer features across several gaming platforms.
The sequel builds on the original Minecraft Dungeons, which debuted in 2020. It retains the franchise’s block-based visual style while introducing new environments, enemies and equipment. Players can explore alone or team up with friends to take on a new threat across two worlds.
Mojang confirmed September 29 as the global release date for Minecraft Dungeons II. The game will be available on Windows PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Microsoft also confirmed that the title will join Xbox Game Pass at launch. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes. Players can team up with up to four people through online or local co-op, depending on the platform.
The Standard Edition of Minecraft Dungeons II is listed at Rs. 2,399 on the Indian Xbox Store. The Deluxe Edition costs Rs. 3,999 and includes additional digital content.
The game is also available for pre-order, with eligible buyers receiving two hero skins, a Twisted cape and a Twisted chicken pet. Pricing and edition availability may vary by platform and retailer.
One of the key additions in Minecraft Dungeons II is the Sift, an entirely new dimension that introduces unfamiliar environments, enemies and gameplay mechanics.
Mojang describes the dimension as a colourful world with new biomes, including Meadows and Carapace. Players will encounter new creatures, hazardous blocks and changing environmental conditions that affect exploration and combat. The Sift will debut in Minecraft Dungeons II before reaching Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions in 2027.
