Microsoft seems to be reconsidering the Xbox Exclusive concept. According to the latest reports, a new survey has been sent to some Xbox Insiders to ask for their opinion regarding major titles once again becoming Xbox exclusive and no longer sold on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. The list includes Minecraft, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Diablo, and Hideo Kojima’s PHYSINT.

Additionally, the survey has asked players' thoughts about making future Xbox releases all exclusive to the console. However, Call of Duty will be an exception. No final choice has been announced. For now, Microsoft seems to be checking if exclusive games could bring more people to Xbox.

The survey also presented some possibilities, like what if the current versions of Minecraft could remain playable on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, but sales and new content updates might stop. PC players would not be affected. The survey has asked what players would do in that case. The options include whether they would like to buy a new console, use one they already own, move to PC, or stop playing. The questions suggest the company wants to know how fans might react before making major changes.

Microsoft has spent recent years bringing some Xbox games to other consoles. This survey raises the chance that the company could change course. Major titles may give players a reason to choose Xbox over PlayStation or Nintendo. However, keeping games off rival consoles could also mean losing sales there. The survey alone does not confirm that Microsoft will make these changes.

Could a Major RPG Make Players Switch Consoles?

A new Fallout or The Elder Scrolls game could convince some fans to buy an Xbox. Both series have loyal players, and many may want to play a new entry as soon as it arrives. Still, not everyone will want to buy another console for one game. PC access gives players another choice. A timed exclusive may also attract fans, but a permanent exclusive could offer a stronger reason to switch.

Microsoft’s survey points to a possible change in its plans, but nothing is confirmed. The company must weigh the value of Xbox exclusives against the players and sales it could lose on other platforms.
