Meta has officially launched its second-generation Ray-Ban in India, bringing major upgrades in camera quality, AI capabilities, and battery performance. Priced at Rs. 39,900, the smart glasses mark Meta’s most aggressive push into AI-powered wearables for the Indian market.
3K Ultra HD video recording is the most significant highlight of the AI glasses. This feature enables users to get clearer, broader, and more stable shots in Maker’s footage. The new model also includes a 12MP photo sensor with significant upgrades in terms of low-light performance and ultra-wide HDR video capture.
The battery life provides 8 hours of uninterrupted use, and the charging case offers almost two additional days of power. With fast charging, 50% of the battery can be recovered in approximately 20 minutes.
The glasses have iconic Ray-Ban designs like Wayfarer, Headliner, and Skyler, with new seasonal colors and lenses.
For the first time, Meta AI is supporting full Hindi voice interaction on smart glasses. Users can say ‘Hey Meta’ and ask questions, take photos, record videos, reply to messages, or control media entirely in Hindi.
Meta has also announced that the development of UPI Lite voice-enabled payments is underway. Users will be able to look at a QR code and say, ‘Hey Meta, scan and pay,’ as the payments get linked directly with a WhatsApp-linked bank account. This localisation push signals Meta’s intent to embed its AI ecosystem into everyday Indian life.
