Litecoin held above $50 after breaking from the $44-$45 range, while traders increased leveraged exposure despite Binance preparing to remove the LTC/BNB spot pair. Binance will remove LTC/BNB on Aug. 21 at 03:00 UTC during its latest review of spot trading pairs. The exchange reviews factors such as liquidity and trading activity.
The change does not remove Litecoin from Binance Spot. Other supported LTC markets will remain available, allowing users to continue buying and selling the cryptocurrency.
LTC traded near $51.97, while its 24-hour range stretched from $51.18 to $53.20. The cryptocurrency retained most of its gains after clearing the $50 level. Price also moved above the 200-day simple moving average. Meanwhile, shorter-term moving averages remained below the market price, maintaining the recent upward structure.
Trading volume did not show clear signs of heavy distribution. Still, momentum indicators showed that Litecoin had already moved into stretched territory following its advance.
Litecoin's RSI stood near 73, placing the cryptocurrency in overbought territory. Price also moved close to the upper Bollinger Band after its recent rally. At the same time, buyers failed to maintain the intraday move to $53.20. The first notable resistance level stood around $53.05, followed by stronger resistance near $54.14.
The positive directional indicator remained comfortably above the negative reading, while trend strength stayed firm. As a result, volatility remained an important feature of the current market structure. Can Litecoin clear nearby resistance before elevated leverage and overbought conditions trigger another sharp price move?

Litecoin open interest stood near $197 million, showing continued activity across derivatives markets. The average funding rate also remained positive at about 0.0101%. Positive funding means traders holding leveraged long positions were paying those on the short side. The reading showed that traders still maintained meaningful bullish exposure.
Meanwhile, liquidity remained concentrated around several nearby levels. A large cluster sat near $55, while other pockets appeared around $49-$50 and near $44. Those concentrations place liquidity above and below Litecoin's market price. Therefore, a strong move in either direction could reach leveraged positions near those levels.
The $53.05 level remains the first nearby upside barrier after LTC failed to hold its intraday move above that area. The next stated resistance level sits at $54.14.
Litecoin remains above $50 despite Binance's planned LTC/BNB removal. Open interest near $197 million and positive funding show continued leverage, while RSI near 73 and resistance between $53.05 and $54.14 remain key levels for traders.
