Karamtara Engineering IPO: Issue Date Released, GMP at 15%

Karamtara Engineering will launch its Rs. 875 crore IPO on September 9 at a price band of Rs. 241-254 per share. The issue includes a fresh share sale and OFS, with listing scheduled for September 17 on BSE and NSE.

Karamtara Engineering Ltd will launch its Rs. 875 crore initial public offering on September 9, 2026. The engineering products maker has fixed the Karamtara Engineering IPO price band at Rs. 241 to Rs. 254 per share. The issue will remain open until September 11, while anchor investors can place bids on September 8.

The company manufactures products for renewable energy and power transmission projects. Its operations cover solar structures, transmission towers, fasteners, and other engineering steel products. Karamtara also sells its products in domestic and overseas markets.

Karamtara Engineering IPO Price Band, Lot Size and GMP

The Karamtara Engineering IPO comprises a fresh issue worth Rs. 675 crore and an offer for sale of shares worth Rs. 200 crore. Overall, the public issue is valued at Rs. 875 crore. At the upper end of the price band, the company will have an estimated market capitalisation of about Rs. 8,174 crore.

The IPO lot size is 59 shares. Therefore, retail investors applying for one lot at the upper price of Rs. 254 will need Rs. 14,986. The grey market premium, or GMP, is around 15% over the issue price. However, GMP operates in an unofficial market and can change before listing.

Karamtara Engineering IPO Dates and Listing Details

The IPO will open for subscription on September 9 and close on September 11. The company expects to finalise the share allotment on September 15. Refunds and the credit of shares to successful bidders' demat accounts are expected on September 16.

Karamtara Engineering shares are scheduled to list on the BSE and NSE on September 17. The issue follows the book-building process. Up to 50% of the net offer will be available to qualified institutional buyers. At least 15% will be reserved for non-institutional investors, while retail investors will receive at least 35%.

JM Financial, ICICI Securities and IIFL Capital Services are acting as book-running lead managers. Meanwhile, MUFG Intime India is the registrar to the IPO.

Karamtara Engineering Business and Manufacturing Operations

Founded in 1996, Karamtara Engineering produces engineering steel products for the renewable energy and transmission sectors. Its product range includes solar mounting structures, tracker components, transmission line towers, structural steel profiles and fasteners.

The company also plans to expand into wind energy products by setting up manufacturing capacity for tubular wind turbine towers. In addition, Karamtara is expanding its manufacturing presence through new facilities in Bhachau, Gujarat, and Saudi Arabia.

As of March 2026, the company exported products to more than 50 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Latin America. Its in-house galvanising facilities have a capacity of 258,000 metric tonnes per annum.

Karamtara Engineering Financial Performance

Karamtara Engineering reported total income of Rs. 4,316.36 crore in FY26, up from Rs. 3,165.36 crore in FY25. In FY24, total income stood at Rs. 2,427.12 crore, showing continued revenue growth over the three financial years.

Profit after tax rose to Rs. 228.75 crore in FY26 from Rs. 139.33 crore in FY25, an increase of about 64%. The company had posted a profit after tax of Rs. 102.65 crore in FY24.

Ahead of the IPO, Karamtara raised Rs. 546 crore through pre-IPO funding and secondary transactions. Investors involved in these transactions included institutional investors and several well-known individuals. The company will now enter the public market, with its shares expected to begin trading on September 17.
