Google-owned YouTube has rolled out its 2025 End of Year Lists for the Indian market. It presents a comprehensive, futuristic picture of key subjects, authors, and songs that influenced the viewing patterns of the Indian audience. The country’s End of Year List highlights how movies, sports, and international web trends are increasingly blending and defining the evolving digital culture.
According to YouTube’s report, viewing habits in 2025 were diverse across languages and geographies. Channels that used innovative formats and told universal stories saw the largest increase in viewership.
The trending topics listed on YouTube include mass entertainment, cultural events, and international pop culture. These range from major sporting and religious events like IPL 2025, Asia Cup, and Kumbh Mela to cinema and music releases such as Saiyaara, Coolie, and Sanam Teri Kasam.
Online shows and trends such as Squid Game, K-pop Demon Hunters, Labubu, and TungTungTung Sahur show how Indians are increasingly part of global online discourse.
The list of top creators highlights the importance of adaptability for success on the platform. MrBeast, the global star, expanded his base further in India using multi-language audio. Other creators like Sejal Gaba and Raj Shamani showed how YouTube can be employed for business and personal brand development.
Popular content creators such as KL BRO BIJU RITVIK built massive fan bases through silent comedies. The list also features KIMPRO, Keshav Shashi Vlogs, Tera Trigun, Sirf Shreyansh, Zidaan Shahid Aly, and Tech Master Shorts, emphasizing the diversity of content formats driving growth.

Popular songs of 2025 on YouTube’s music trends were influenced by shorts as well. PASSO BEM SOLTO (Slowed), Shaky, Saiyaara, YEDA YUNG Mafia, Victory Anthem, Tune O Rangeele (Brazilian Funk Mix), Jutti Meri (Live), Payal Ki Khanak, and Dil Pe Chalai Churiya (Trending version) dominated short-form videos.
Long-form content included songs such as Saiyaara, Ranu Bombai Ki Ranu, Shaky, Raanjhan, and Teri Ramjhol Bole Gire, which became the most-streamed songs.
YouTube mentioned the trends reflect bigger behavioural changes. According to the platform, 76% of Gen Z users in India now turn to YouTube to understand world events and trends. This makes the platform a cultural meeting point rather than just an entertainment destination.
The 2025 year-end list suggests that India’s YouTube audience is increasingly united by shared digital moments, even as content continues to span languages, regions, and genres.
