Grok Could Get a New USD 100 Ultra Plan as xAI Rethinks Pricing

Elon Musk’s xAI is reportedly considering a four-tier subscription structure that could combine access to Grok and X. The proposed plans may range from a free tier with limited Grok usage to a USD 100 monthly Ultra plan aimed at power users. A USD 8 Lite option could also combine Grok access with X features.

Elon Musk's xAI is reportedly considering a major overhaul of its subscription system, potentially bringing Grok and X under a single four-tier pricing structure. According to Bloomberg, the proposed system would range from a free plan with tighter Grok usage limits to a USD 100-a-month Ultra tier aimed at heavier users. The plan could simplify the current setup, where X and Grok have separate subscription options.

The reported changes come as xAI expands Grok's capabilities and looks to build a larger paid user base. However, the company has not confirmed the proposed four-tier structure or announced when it could launch.

New Lite Plan Could Combine Grok And X Features

One of the reported additions is a USD 8-a-month Lite plan. It would include access to Grok along with an X verified badge and fewer advertisements on the social platform. The proposed free tier would continue to offer Grok access, but with stricter usage limits. Bloomberg's report does not disclose the details of the fourth tier, leaving the full structure incomplete for now.

The proposal would give users a single subscription route for services that are currently sold separately. That could make it easier for people who use both X and Grok to choose a plan without managing two different pricing systems.

Ultra Tier Could Target Power Users

At the top of the proposed structure would be the USD 100-per-month Ultra plan, which would be aimed at users who require greater access to xAI's services. The tier is reportedly set to include Grok Bot, the company's AI agent designed to handle tasks rather than simply respond to individual questions.

Grok Bot is part of xAI's broader push toward AI agents that can carry out work on a user's behalf. The company currently describes Grok Bot as a persistent AI teammate that can handle tasks using a cloud computer.

Current Plans are Spread Across Grok and X

The proposed restructuring would replace a more complicated collection of subscriptions. X currently has separate Basic, Premium, and Premium+ options, while Grok has its own free and paid plans.

For example, current Grok subscriptions include SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus and higher-usage options, with different limits and features. xAI has also moved toward a shared weekly usage system for paid Grok users, allowing usage across different Grok products.

xAI has Yet to Confirm the New Pricing Structure

The reported four-tier system remains under consideration, and there is no confirmed launch date. The exact features of the fourth plan, along with any changes to existing subscribers, have not been disclosed.

If introduced, the unified structure would bring Grok's AI services and X's social-media features under a common pricing system. For now, however, users should treat the reported prices and features as proposed plans rather than final offerings.
