Grayscale Investments has made a big move in the US crypto market. The company now lets investors earn rewards by staking Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) in its ETPs. This marks the first time for any US-listed crypto product to have offered staking.
Investors can use staking to gain rewards without selling their cryptocurrencies, while Grayscale manages the entire technical workload. The company utilizes trusted custodians and validators to stake the coins securely. Investors will never need to manage private keys or run nodes.
Peter Mintzberg, Grayscale’s CEO, called this an important step. He said it shows the company’s ability to bring new and useful options to digital investments. Grayscale manages $4.82 billion in the Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE), $3.31 billion in the Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH), and $122.5 million in the Solana Trust (GSOL).
This new feature fills a big gap in the US crypto market. Before, investors could not earn rewards from crypto easily. Grayscale also published a simple guide called "Staking 101: Secure the Blockchain, Earn Rewards" to help investors understand the process.
Experts say this move could make US crypto ETPs more competitive. Other companies may add staking in the future. Grayscale also plans to add staking to more products, giving investors more ways to earn rewards while holding crypto.
Currently, GSOL trades over-the-counter. Grayscale wants to list it on an exchange. If approved, it could be one of the first Solana ETPs in the US to offer staking. This will make it easier for investors to access Solana, a fast and growing blockchain network.
Grayscale’s staking products let investors earn rewards safely and easily. ETHE rewards go directly to investors. ETH and GSOL rewards increase the fund’s value over time. The company works closely with the SEC to make sure everything follows the rules.
This update is a new chapter for US crypto investors. People can now earn staking rewards while keeping crypto in familiar ETPs. Grayscale is making staking simple, safe, and open to both regular and big investors.
