Google and Xreal have launched their Aura extended reality (XR) glasses with a starting price of USD 1,099, lower than the initial pre-order price of USD 1,279. The glasses will be available at the discounted price through the end of 2026.
Xreal Aura is available to order in the US, Canada, and South Korea. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant costs USD 1,099, while the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at USD 1,299 under the limited-period offer. Shipments are expected to begin in mid-November.
Sales in Japan will begin on November 2, 2026, with wider availability planned for next year. Xreal also confirmed that customers who pre-ordered the glasses at the original price will automatically receive a refund for the difference.
The price reduction positions the Aura against Meta's upcoming VR Glasses, announced at USD 1,299.99 and expected to arrive in spring 2027.

Weighing 95 grams, the Aura glasses connect to a separate Android XR computing unit through a cable. The design keeps the glasses lightweight while allowing users to view virtual screens alongside their surroundings.
The glasses offer a 70-degree diagonal field of view. However, the transparent design comes with limitations compared with more immersive virtual reality headsets.
Google and Xreal say the device will launch with more than 150 experiences designed specifically for XR, alongside immersive films including Andy Serkis' Nevatars and Galapagos: The Last Eden.
Users can connect a computer or handheld gaming console to the computing unit through USB-C to mirror its display on the glasses. Google's Gemini AI assistant can also answer questions about what users are viewing.
Google Photos will receive an XR update featuring a spatial gallery that allows users to explore their photo libraries in a three-dimensional environment. Users can navigate memories with hand movements and open selected photos in 3D.
Xreal has also partnered with GameSir to develop a wireless gamepad featuring a dedicated Gemini key, a charging dock, and interchangeable D-pads. The company also announced a folding wireless keyboard. Pricing and release dates for both accessories remain unannounced.
