Google unveils Gemini Personal Intelligence in India to make artificial intelligence more user-centric. This new feature will enable the Google AI assistant to deliver customized responses curated for individual users. The rollout will debut earlier in the United States before launching in India.

So what new things can you get from Google’s latest update? The feature allows Gemini to connect with your Google ecosystem. This includes Photos, Gmail, and YouTube. The AI assistant will also analyze activity across these platforms, with your permission. The aim is to provide more relevant and contextual responses.

For example, you can ask Gemini to retrieve specific photos, summarise emails, and even ask for suggestions on previous conversations. This Gemini update uses real-time prompts with existing data to generate precise outputs.\

Availability and Rollout Details

Gemini Personal Intelligence is currently available in India only for paid subscribers and users with advanced AI plans. Google is likely to extend access to a wider user base later on. To get the feature, you need to follow the following guidelines: 

  • First, you need to open Gemini and go to ‘Settings’.

  • Next, you need to click ‘Personal Intelligence.’

  • Now select ‘Connected Apps’.

  • Lastly, you just need to choose the app you want to link, such as Photos or Gmail.

Privacy Concerns and Expectations

Google claims that the feature will work across mobile and web platforms. It's also available on both Android and iOS. Personal data accessed through the feature will not be used to train Google’s AI models. Thus, addressing the growing concerns around data security and transparency. The tech giant believes that with the new feature, it will lead in the AI-powered market.
