Google has started rolling out the June Pixel Drop, which will bring Android 17 and Wear OS 7 to Pixel smartphones along with several new AI-driven creation tools, multitasking enhancements, and call management features.

According to a blog post from Google, the features begin to roll out today and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. This validates many of the leaked promotional videos, such as Screen Reactions and Gemini Omni, that were discovered on Amazon earlier this week.

Screen Reactions Simplifies Content Creation Workflows

Google's new Screen Reactions feature lets Pixel users record their screen and selfie camera simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate apps and manual editing. The selfie feed appears as a movable and resizable overlay, making it ideal for reaction videos and tutorials. Users can enable the feature through Quick Settings and adjust the camera window in real time while recording.

Gemini Omni Brings AI Video Creation

Google is embedding AI-powered creativity tools directly into Pixel devices through Gemini Omni. Users can create or remix videos using text prompts, images, and existing clips, while a new AI avatar feature can replicate a user's appearance and voice for video production.

Gemini can also generate original songs from a photo or text description, complete with customizable lyrics, vocals, style, and tempo through the new ‘Create music’ tool.

Bubbles and Voice Translate Expand Pixel Capabilities

Google is expanding Pixel multitasking with Bubbles, a feature that turns apps into floating windows for easier switching between tasks. On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, these windows can be docked in a dedicated bubble bar for quick access.

Pixel 10a also gains Voice Translate, enabling real-time Hindi and English call translation, while Quick Share now supports compatibility with Apple's AirDrop on the Pixel 8a and 9a.

How Do These New Pixel Tools Work?

In the upcoming weeks, Google's Magic Cue will be extended to Snapchat chats. It will immediately bring up pertinent recommendations in conversations. Custom Greetings allows users to record a customized outgoing voice message for missed or denied calls while maintaining real-time transcription of caller messages.

The Manual Call Screen, which allows Google's Call Assist to ask an unknown caller to identify themselves and explain the reason for the call, is now available in India. Users can manually check for the June Pixel Drop by heading to Settings > System > System Update > Check for update.

While the update is rolling out automatically over the coming weeks, some AI-powered features, such as Gemini Omni and AI music generation, will arrive gradually through server-side updates.

Feature availability also depends on the Pixel model. For instance, Voice Translate expansion is exclusive to the Pixel 10a, while the new bubble bar feature is limited to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

With the June Pixel Drop, Google is further strengthening its AI-first approach by bringing smarter creation tools, improved communication features, and enhanced multitasking experiences to Pixel devices, although users may need to wait for some features to become available through gradual rollouts.
