Gemini in the Chrome browser lets users interact with an AI assistant while browsing webpages. They can ask the tool to summarize long articles, explain complex topics, compare information across tabs, or assist with writing tasks.
This feature also eliminates the need to switch between applications or windows. It enables the user to perform the task directly through the browsing experience. This is the aim behind Google’s integration.
Gemini AI is being rolled out in phases. Users of the desktop version and iOS version of Chrome in India can already use it. An expanded rollout is anticipated in the coming weeks as Google continues to work on performance and user feedback.
The AI assistant is also available in more than 50 languages, including many major Indian languages. This is part of Google’s push to extend the use of AI beyond English-speaking populations.
