Google has released the Gemini app for IOS users globally. A free app, it allows for several innovative features that will optimise learning, creativity, and productivity. It is powered by Google's Gemini 1.5 large language models. The Gemini app is integrated with multiple services and apps to better augment everyday tasks.
Another great feature the app has is Gemini Live, released during the Google I/O event in August. Here, one can have a voice conversation with the AI chatbot.
The system supports 10 different voices that can enable users to personalise their interactions with varying pitch, tonality, and accent. It is available in more than 10 languages so far. Gemini Live has an interactive and hands-on approach for supporting brainstorming ideas, finding answers, and casual chatting.
Besides voice chats, the new Gemini iOS app contains multi-modal capabilities and allows users to generate images using the Google Imagen 3 generative AI model. Above all, the app has useful extensions such as Google Flights, YouTube, YouTube Music, Google Maps, and Google Workspace. This would help users efficiently find needed information across Google's system.
On the free side, the app is quite basic. However, the Google One Premium plan of Rs. 1,950 per month will provide the Gemini 1.5 Pro model. The user can get access to one million context window size, and priority access to the latest Gemini AI updates with the premium plan. It also extends the Gemini AI from Google Docs to Gmail, so the chatbot becomes even more deeply a part of Google's productivity suite.
The Gemini app is now available for download on the Apple Store and marks a massive push on the part of Google to bring AI-driven services to its iOS users.
