NVIDIA has officially launched GeForce NOW in India. The cloud gaming service lets players stream supported PC games they already own on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Instead of running games on a powerful computer, the games are processed on NVIDIA's servers and streamed over the internet.
The launch gives more people a chance to enjoy high-end PC games without spending a large amount on expensive hardware. If users have a good internet connection, they can play demanding games on devices they already own.
Building or buying a gaming PC is not easy for everyone. Good graphics cards and gaming laptops are still expensive. GeForce NOW offers another option. Players can run demanding games without needing a powerful home machine. Unlike traditional gaming services, GeForce NOW does not require players to buy games again.
With GeForce NOW, users can connect their existing game libraries from platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, and Xbox and stream supported titles directly from the cloud. NVIDIA has confirmed that 5,000 games, including many popular free-to-play titles, will be supported on the service.
Another big benefit is convenience. Since the games run on cloud servers, players do not have to wait for large downloads or updates. They can start playing much sooner. This also means older laptops and basic computers can handle games that normally need powerful hardware.
As of now, the company has introduced several subscription services, including the Performance membership at Rs. 999 per month and the Ultimate membership at Rs. 1,999 per month. Those who want to have a temporary trial before subscribing can go for day passes, priced at Rs. 399 for the Performance tier and Rs. 799 for the Ultimate tier.
GeForce NOW may also affect how people shop for their next device. Some buyers may no longer feel the need to spend extra on a gaming laptop. A thin laptop made for work or study could be enough if it has a good internet connection.
Office laptops could be a better choice for people who want a single device for both work and gaming. Tablets may also attract casual gamers who want to play on a bigger screen without carrying a heavy laptop.

Cloud gaming could slowly change the role of gaming cafés. If people can play high-end games from home, fewer players may visit cafés just to use powerful computers.
Still, gaming cafés have something that cloud gaming cannot replace. They bring people together. Many cafés may focus more on esports events, gaming tournaments, fast internet, and group play. Instead of only offering powerful PCs, they could become places where gamers meet, compete, and spend time together.
