Samsung has released a new firmware update for the Galaxy A14 5G smartphones to bring the December 2024 security patch. This update fixes a lot of security issues to make protection for the users better. At the time of writing this, the update is issued only for the SM-A146M model, which is marketed in Central And South America. Other regional versions of the Galaxy A14 5G should receive the update shortly as well.
The latest firmware version being released for this update is A146MUBU8CXL3, and to update Galaxy A14 5G users should look out for a notification on the availability of the update. If the user has not been notified to download the update they can do it manually via the device Settings » Software update » Download and install.
Occasionally, new security tunings are part of Samsung’s Quarterly Security Update and therefore, this model of the smartphone gets updated once in three months. This routine maintenance keeps the device’s software stable and secure. Besides this update, the Galaxy A14 5G will also be a part of Android 15 / One UI 7.0 upgrade process likely to introduce new features and enhancements. However, it will not be surprising to see this update come only after Samsung’s next Galaxy unpacked which ushers the Galaxy S25 series.
As for now, Samsung will ensure they push Android 15 for the flagship devices before having it for the mid-range and budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy A14 5G. Lovers of the device may continue to wait more months before they get a feel of the new One UI.
