An early build of Forza Horizon 6 has leaked online ahead of the much-anticipated release. However, the game’s developers Playground Games have already warned players against downloading or accessing the game illegally.

Gameplay clips, screenshots, and map details from the unreleased racing title surfaced on social media and piracy forums over the weekend. Several users claimed they were already playing the PC version days before launch.

Playground Games confirmed the leak in a statement posted on X. The studio said the build did not come from official pre-load systems and added that enforcement action had already started against accounts involved in the leak.

Studio Warns of Strict Penalties

The developer said players using the leaked version could face franchise-wide bans and hardware bans. A hardware ban blocks a specific device from accessing the game or online services, even through a different account.

Screenshots shared online also showed alleged permanent suspension notices linked to the leaked build. An image displayed a ban expiry date set to the year 9999, a format often used for indefinite bans in online games.

Gaming companies usually issue account suspensions for piracy or cheating. Hardware bans remain less common and are generally reserved for serious violations.

Leak Raises Concerns Before Launch

The incident has raised worries about pre-release information leaks in the video game industry. Early versions of games reveal unfinished features that can cause problems for marketing strategies developed based on expected releases and reviews.

Some reports initially linked the leak to exposed Steam files or backend access problems. Playground Games later denied that the issue was connected to pre-load encryption or official downloads. The studio has not revealed how the build became publicly available.

Launch Schedule Remains Unchanged

Despite the leak, Microsoft’s launch plans for Forza Horizon 6 remain unchanged. The game is scheduled to release on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Players purchasing the Premium Edition are expected to receive early access starting May 15.

The new entry in the Forza Horizon franchise has generated strong interest among racing fans for its upgraded visuals, expanded world map, and new vehicle lineup. Playground Games is now urging players to wait for the official version instead of accessing leaked copies online.
