FIFA World Cup 2026 Investment Opportunities: The Best Stocks To Watch Now

As millions of fans travel across North America for the tournament, Deutsche Bank reports select hospitality, consumer, media, and gaming stocks benefiting from one of the world's biggest sporting events. However, the bank notes that while individual companies may see meaningful gains, the overall macroeconomic impact is likely to remain limited relative to the size of the US economy.

Analysts believe the FIFA World Cup 2026 could create major investment opportunities across hospitality, travel, media, and sports betting sectors. Deutsche Bank has highlighted a group of stocks that could benefit from increased consumer spending, tourism, media viewership, and sports betting activity during the tournament. World football’s mega event features 48 teams and 104 matches across 16 host cities this year.

According to Deutsche Bank, the overall impact on the US economy will be around a 0.05% boost to GDP. It believes several sectors are positioned to see impressive gains from the influx of visitors and heightened fan engagement. FIFA estimates the tournament could contribute as much as $17.2 billion to US GDP.

Beer players in particular could be notable winners. Jefferies analysts estimate the tournament will boost global beer consumption by 568 million liters during the June-July period.

Closing Note

The World Economic Forum estimates that the tournament and its wild 104 matches "could create more than $40 billion in global GDP."

"Braun cited upcoming FIFA World Cup activations [in other words, campaigns] as an example of a consumer-centric focus, with activations in (New York) focused around new experiences, recruitment and European influence, vs. activations in Houston focused on Latin American influence, and tailored tie-ins, packaging and marketing by city," a team of Morgan Stanley analysts wrote.

The group stage of this year's football world cup started on June 11 and will run until June 27. The round of 32 will start from June 28 to July 3, and the round of 16 will start from July 4 to 7. After which, the quarterfinals will run from July 9 to 11, the semi-finals on July 14 and 15, the bronze medal match on July 18, and the finals will kick off on July 19.
