Microsoft has confirmed that Fable will be part of Gamescom 2026, where players will finally get a much closer look at the upcoming Xbox RPG. The game is set to launch on February 23, 2027, and Gamescom 2026 will feature a dedicated booth for Fable fans to watch live gameplay. 

The OG game was released in 2004 and received massive success. To recreate the journey, Playground Games is creating a new version that takes players to the same well-known fantasy world of Albion. Players can expect action, humor, and plenty of choices that shape the adventure. 

Though little has been officially revealed about the game yet, a recent X post by the developer said, “We're heading to @Gamescom to share much more of Fable! That means more Fable gameplay, including a deeper look at combat and the many ways Heroes can tackle a fight.”

It’s still unclear whether Gamescom opening night will have a Fable showcase trailer, but players will definitely get the chance to experience new details about the game, including how the gameplay combines melee, ranged, and magical abilities to create a unique experience. 

Showing the game months before release gives Microsoft a chance to rebuild excitement. A strong demo can answer questions, show how much progress has been made, and give players more confidence before launch.

The company is also using Fable to keep attention on Xbox's upcoming lineup. Big reveals at events like Gamescom help keep fans interested while they wait. If the new gameplay lives up to expectations, Fable could easily become one of the biggest highlights of Gamescom 2026.
