Launched in 2023 by Musk’s AI company xAI, Grok has been making waves in the AI chatbot sector. It was recently upgraded to Grok-3, which xAI claims outperforms OpenAI’s GPT-4o on select benchmarks. The Grok app for Android debuted in February 2025, marking a major milestone for xAI’s expansion.
Although Musk's screenshot displays Grok leading the rankings, it's the US Google Play Store listing. The chatbot has gained momentum with users reacting with mixed feelings, some complimenting its AI capabilities while others express concern over its ethical implications and data privacy.
In another recent news, Musk followed the Studio Ghibli-themed trend, which went viral after OpenAI launched a photo-generation feature in GPT-4o. The trend is when users make portraits and memes using the classic art style of Hayao Miyazaki, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli.
Musk posted a picture on X showing a Ghibli-style animation of himself as a monkey holding the DOGE mascot aloft. The "Theme of the day" post quickly gained popularity among crypto and AI enthusiasts alike.
