Zcash Tops USD 1,600

Zcash (ZEC) climbed above USD 1,600 for the first time since 2016 after 21Shares launched Europe’s first Zcash exchange-traded product (ETP) on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam.

Investors can buy it through traditional brokerage accounts, avoiding the need to manage crypto wallets or take direct custody of the tokens. Its annual management fee is 2.5%.

21Shares also launched a physically backed ETP tracking ETHFI, the governance and utility token of the Ether.fi decentralized finance protocol. That product carries the same 2.5% annual fee as its ZEC counterpart.

The European listing follows Grayscale’s launch of its spot Zcash ETF, which trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH.

Bitcoin Cash Jumped 33%

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) jumped 33% in 24 hours to around USD 357, pushing the altcoin to a multi-month high. Traders now set the next major upside target zone at USD 500-USD 530.

This comes after CME announced on September 21 that it plans to list Bitcoin Cash futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review.

The exchange will also launch futures for Uniswap (UNI) on the same date, expanding its crypto derivatives lineup beyond assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP

For BCH, however, the announcement has been followed by a particularly sharp move. The coin has now gained roughly 63% over the past week, rising from the low USD 210-USD 220s to around USD 353.

Zest Launched Native Bitcoin Borrowing

Zest Protocol, the firm operating Bitcoin’s (BTC) largest DeFi lending market on Stacks, has announced a capped mainnet demo for its Bitcoin Collateral Vault.

The public demo marks the first full public-mainnet deployment of Zest’s native Bitcoin collateral vault infrastructure, which consists of self-custodial vaults on Bitcoin L1, is enforced by the ‘digital gold’s’ own rules and is built for Bitcoin Virtual Machine (BitVM) proof verification, as disclosed on Wednesday, September 23.

The demo allows users to deposit real Bitcoin into a self-custodial vault on Bitcoin L1 and borrow real USD Coin (USDC) against it, without wrapping or bridging.

Zest said its existing Stacks lending market previously reached more than USD 100 million in peak total value locked, with no bad debt or BTC losses.

Open interest has moved considerably higher over the past few weeks. DeFiLlama Research placed the figure at more than USD 13 billion on August 31, when Hyperliquid was processing roughly USD 220 billion in perpetual trading volume per month.
