Polygon Gains Momentum

Polygon is approaching a critical price level as a proposed crypto hard fork puts the network back trending. POL recently recovered toward USD 0.10, while Binance and Polymarket are seeking to recover millions in stolen tokens through a controversial governance proposal.

The proposed hard fork would zero the balances of four addresses linked to the Polymarket incident and one tied to Binance. Polymarket accounts for 23.86 million POL, while Binance’s address holds 46.63 million POL.

The proposal would credit the equivalent balances to recovery wallets verified by the affected platforms. POL traded around USD 0.096, up 4.6% over seven days. The token remains close to the USD 0.10 psychological resistance level.

Uniswap Crossed USD 20 billion in Tokenized Stocks

In the past 24 hours, Uniswap reportedly surpassed USD 20 billion in cumulative trading volume for tokenized stocks. This record trading volume placed Uniswap at the top among decentralized exchanges (DEXes) in terms of stock-token trading activity.

Over the past 24 hours, Uniswap led DEXes as it added USD 19.4 million in trading volume. This was approximately 35 times the growth recorded by Aerodrome, which ranked second. Both of these events followed UNI, recording a 5.70% gain in four hours, climbing from USD 7.28 to USD 7.70 on Binance on the 4th of November. At the same time, its 24-hour price increase stood at 4.75%.

CZ Pardon Faces Democrats’ Scrutiny

Democrats are continuing their investigation into Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, pardon as Binance faces renewed scrutiny following a USD 6.34 billion security breach. The Democrats’ inquiry into CZ’s pardon is bringing fresh attention to Binance’s founder, who says he no longer manages the exchange but remains one of its most vocal public defenders.

The October 29 Binance hack targeted internal wallet-signing systems, triggering unauthorized transfers across several blockchain networks. Binance says it will absorb the financial impact, while CZ has publicly defended the exchange and reassured users.

Zcash is Trimming Block Time

Zcash has scheduled its NU7 upgrade for block 3,543,405, when the network will cut its target time between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 and start setting aside most transaction fees for future mining rewards.

The upgrade also changes what miners earn from transactions, with 40% of fees going to miners and the remaining 60% set aside for future rewards. The Zcash Foundation’s Zebra 7.0.0 release notes identify the software that supports the switch.

For someone depositing ZEC at an exchange that requires six confirmations, the shorter interval brings the target wait for those blocks from 7.5 minutes to 2.5 minutes, assuming the exchange keeps the same requirement.
