Curve DAO Token fell around 11% to USD 0.34 on October 9, reversing an earlier rally of more than 10% as selling spread across the crypto market. The decline occurred while Curve’s active loans remained near USD 76 million. Lending activity held relatively steady, but the value of staked CRV dropped below USD 300 million as the token’s price weakened.

CRV Price Reverses its Earlier Gains

According to CoinGecko data, CRV traded near USD 0.3400, down approximately 11.2% over 24 hours. Its market capitalization stood at around USD 535 million, with daily trading volume of approximately USD 103 million. The token also lost 11.6% over seven days.

The decline followed an earlier rebound from the area around USD 0.36, which an October 8 chart identified as the 20-day exponential moving average. During that rebound, CRV gained more than 10% over a separate 24-hour period. The subsequent fall below USD 0.36 reversed that recovery.

The earlier chart placed resistance at USD 0.4156. CRV’s move back toward USD 0.34 left it below both that level and the moving average that had supported the rebound. Those levels describe the earlier technical setup rather than confirming another upward move.

The reversal also changed the relationship between price and protocol activity. Earlier gains coincided with stronger lending and staking figures, but those measures did not prevent the later sell-off. Token prices and activity within a protocol can move in different directions.

Curve’s Active Loans Remain Near USD 76 Million

According to DeFiLlama data, Curve’s active loans stood at approximately USD 76.14 million. That was close to the USD 76.18 million recorded in the earlier update, showing only a small change in outstanding borrowing despite CRV’s price decline.

Active loans measure outstanding borrowing rather than new loans issued during a single day. The balance therefore provides a different view of protocol use from token trading volume. Curve’s combined dashboard tracks several products, including its exchange, crvUSD stablecoin and LlamaLend lending services.

The value of staked CRV stood at approximately USD 289.11 million, compared with more than USD 300 million in the earlier report. A lower dollar valuation does not by itself establish that holders withdrew tokens, since falling CRV prices also reduce the value of existing stakes.

DeFiLlama placed Curve’s total value locked at approximately USD 1.35 billion, with most held on Ethereum. This measure covers assets deposited across the tracked services and remains separate from outstanding loans and staked CRV.

Curve Revenue Continues as Market Pressure Builds

DeFiLlama recorded approximately USD 27,620 in protocol revenue over 24 hours and USD 282,232 over seven days. These figures provide defined reporting periods, while the earlier USD 158,000 revenue figure accompanied the previous price rebound.

Protocol revenue does not represent a guaranteed return for CRV holders. Borrowing balances, trading activity and revenue measure different parts of Curve’s operations. None alone establishes the direction of the token’s next price move.

CRV’s decline coincided with broader crypto selling, including Bitcoin’s drop below USD 81,000 and approximately USD 1.09 billion in market-wide liquidations.

Curve’s lending balance remained close to its earlier level through the pullback. Meanwhile, CRV traded below the USD 0.36 area that had supported its previous recovery.
