Cronos (CRO) has fallen toward USD 0.056 after its latest recovery stalled, leaving the token close to a key support level ahead of another scheduled token unlock in November.
CRO fell toward USD 0.05609 on October 22, a decline of roughly 3.69% from the opening level shown on the daily chart. The move brought the token near the lower end of its recent trading range, where USD 0.055 to USD 0.056 has attracted buying interest.
The decline followed a rally toward USD 0.070 in late September. However, CRO could not sustain that advance and gradually moved lower throughout October. Recent recovery attempts met resistance near USD 0.058 to USD 0.059 preventing the token from regaining its previous trading range.
TradingView data showed CRO below several moving averages, with three lines grouped near USD 0.060. That area could act as resistance if the token attempts another recovery. Moving above those averages would not, by itself, establish a lasting change in the trend.
Trading activity has eased since September's rally in the crypto market. Lower volume points to weaker participation than during the advance, but it cannot determine the direction of the next price move. The broader Cronos price history provides further context for the decline.
According to Tokenomist, approximately 1.17 billion CRO from the Cronos Strategic Reserve reached a scheduled unlock on October 17. The amount represented about 2.3% of circulating supply. Another release of around 1.17 billion CRO is scheduled for November 16.
The releases belong to a vesting plan that runs through 2030. An unlock makes tokens available under that schedule, but it does not show that holders transferred them to exchanges or sold them. CRO had already started declining before October 17, so the price movement cannot be attributed solely to that event.
Meanwhile, Tokenomist records roughly 228 million CRO burned over the past 30 days. A burn permanently removes tokens from supply. By contrast, a reserve unlock releases previously locked tokens. Both affect supply figures, but neither figure alone establishes how traders will respond.
Cronos has separately outlined plans to direct revenue from its Ult trading app and Cronos Launch toward buying and burning CRO. The company described the approach in September, as in a report on its updated CRO strategy. The revenue mechanism operates separately from scheduled reserve releases.
While longer-term CRO price forecasts cover wider periods, the immediate area to watch is USD 0.055 to USD 0.056. CRO returned to that range during October's decline. If buyers defend it, the token could attempt another recovery toward USD 0.058.
A sustained move above USD 0.058 would bring USD 0.060 back into focus. That price sits near several moving averages, which remained above CRO on October 22. Moving beyond USD 0.060 and holding there would bring the next resistance area around USD 0.065 into consideration.
However, a move below USD 0.055 followed by continued trading under that level could shift attention toward USD 0.053 to USD 0.054. A brief dip below support followed by a recovery would differ from repeated daily closes beneath it.
Even if CRO reaches USD 0.065, it would remain below the approximately USD 0.070 level reached in September. The gap between those price areas shows how far the October decline has moved the token away from its last local high.
