Xfinity users across the US experienced huge connectivity issues after a widespread outage hit the network. The sudden crash affected streaming, work, and communication services, prompting urgent responses from frustrated customers.
Comcast’s Xfinity was down for numerous users on Sunday (November 16, 2025). This came amid the NFL games. Downdetector noted over 3,000 people reported facing problems across the US.
On X, Downdetector mentioned, “User reports indicate problems with Xfinity by Comcast since 6:15 PM EST.”
According to the site that logs outages, 70 percent of users faced issues using the service on their television. The map indicated that the problem was widespread, with cities affected including San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and New York.
The outage was reported during peak usage hours, which hampered streaming services, smart home devices, and live television broadcasts.
Several users complained about being unable to watch NFL games or access work-related applications. Others noted that their home security systems and smart devices went offline during the interruption.
Several users and NFL fans expressed their frustrations both on the Downdetector page's comment sections and on X.
One person wrote, “No Internet, yet again.” Another commented, “Xfinity is so lazy.”
“Can Comcast fix its service already? Can’t watch a game when it’s freezing every five seconds,” one person said on X. Another chipped in, saying, “Comcast is the actual worst company I think I’ve ever dealt with. Not only has our wifi gone out every day for the past few weeks, but now we can’t even watch TV because the service keeps pausing every 3 seconds.”
One individual added, “Xfinity TV broadcast is actually unwatchable right now. Everything is freezing every 5 seconds.”
“I live in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Comcast has been going on and off for the last half hour. The Eagles are playing at 8:30 tonight. I suggest you fix this before it starts; otherwise, you're gonna have a lot of pissed off people,” a person claimed on X.
Earlier, Comcast customers across the United States experienced widespread internet outages on October 19, 2025. According to outage tracking platforms, the disruption lasted for about 30 minutes before service was gradually restored. Users faced disrupted Wi-Fi connections and TV services.
US cable network providers operate in separate territories to avoid collisions and conflicts of interest. Comcast is effectively the only broadband internet provider in many markets, such as Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, Houston, Denver, and Atlanta.
Despite the widespread complaints, Comcast has not released an official statement explaining the cause of the outage in earlier instances.

Comcast advises users to track the Xfinity Status Map and the Xfinity app for real-time updates during outages. These tools can also provide estimated restoration times and options for reporting ongoing issues. Customers have also been instructed to restart their modems and routers if they continue experiencing connectivity problems after service restoration.
