OpenAI has just introduced a new feature to ChatGPT Work that enables the AI to learn a person's usual style and apply it in subsequent interactions. This allows users to invest less effort in describing how they want their emails or documents to sound.
Before this, ChatGPT users had to instruct the AI to use a specific tone and style in their writing. Now the tool can learn from their previous work. It can pick up phrases they use frequently, how they sign off emails, and even minor writing habits.
The feature can utilize material from linked applications like Gmail, Google Drive, Slack and Sharepoint for a better understanding of the writing patterns.
Setting it up is easy. A user goes to Settings, then Personalization, and then Writing style. From there, they can link their work apps and let ChatGPT study old messages and documents. Once turned on, the feature works across both the web version and mobile apps, but only for ChatGPT Work users on paid plans.
The idea is that the more ChatGPT sees of a person's writing, the more natural its drafts will feel. Over time, users may not need to give detailed instructions at all.
