The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 can still handle 1080p gaming in 2026, particularly for esports, older AAA titles, and less demanding games. However, with only 4GB of VRAM and basic performance, it will be challenging for the graphics card to run the latest AAA games.
The GTX 1650 was released in 2019 as an entry-level graphics card designed for 1080p gaming on budget systems. Seven years after its release, it is still one of the most popular graphics cards in gaming PCs and laptops; however, the demands of new games are way higher.
The graphics card has 896 CUDA cores and 4GB of VRAM, with both GDDR5 and GDDR6 options. One of the main issues with graphics cards in 2026 is their 4GB of VRAM.
Modern games can quickly use up available video memory, resulting in stuttering, texture pop-in, frame-time spikes, reduced texture quality, longer asset-loading times, and weaker 1% lows.
For esports games such as Valorant, Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, PUBG, EA Sports FC, League of Legends, and Dota 2, the GTX 1650 can still deliver playable 1080p performance with suitable settings.
Older AAA games, including GTA V, The Witcher 3, Forza Horizon 5, and many older Assassin's Creed titles, also remain within its capabilities at Low or Medium settings.
Harder games feel much less forgiving. Cyberpunk 2077 can still run on the GTX 1650 with the right settings and upscaling, but the experience isn't as good as what newer mid-range cards deliver.

The GTX 1650 does not have NVIDIA Tensor cores. It also lacks ray tracing hardware. So ray tracing is not really a good fit for this card.
For anyone building a new gaming PC, this GPU is generally not recommended. Newer graphics cards offer better performance, more VRAM, improved efficiency and newer gaming features. Existing GTX 1650 owners, however, may not need an immediate upgrade if they mainly play esports or older titles at 1080p Low or Medium settings.
Overall, the GTX 1650 remains suitable for 1080p esports and older games but is limited for modern AAA titles. It is also not recommended for 1440p gaming or as a new GPU purchase in 2026.
