Bharti Airtel reported a 37.3% rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Profit reached Rs 8,167.4 crore, compared with Rs 5,947.4 crore a year earlier.

Higher mobile tariffs, steady customer additions, and growth across India and Africa supported the result. However, profit came below CNBC-TV18’s estimate of Rs 8,374 crore.

Revenue from operations increased 18.4% year-on-year to Rs 58,539 crore. It stood at Rs 49,462.6 crore in the same quarter last year. Consolidated EBITDA reached Rs 33,599 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 57.4%. Bharti Airtel shares closed near Rs 1,955 on Tuesday.

Mobile Tariffs Lift Airtel’s India Revenue

Bharti Airtel’s India mobile revenue rose 9.2% from a year earlier. The company linked the increase to higher tariffs and a stronger customer mix. Average revenue per user climbed to Rs 264 from Rs 250. The rise showed better earnings from each mobile subscriber during the quarter.

The operator added one million postpaid users, its highest quarterly addition. That increase took the postpaid subscriber base to 30 million. Airtel also added five million smartphone users during the quarter. Smartphone data customers rose by 21.1 million over the past year and formed 80% of the mobile base.

Meanwhile, Airtel expanded its mobile network during the quarter. It installed 1,579 towers and 14,540 mobile broadband base stations. The company also introduced Postpaid Fast Lane using 5G network slicing. The service gives eligible postpaid users priority access on supported parts of the network.

Homes and Business Units Add Revenue

Airtel’s Homes business recorded 33.2% year-on-year revenue growth. The division added 473,000 customers during the quarter. Its subscriber base reached 14.7 million. Demand for broadband and home connectivity services supported the unit’s expansion across key Indian markets.

Airtel Business revenue increased 12% from the previous year. Digital services and connectivity products supported the enterprise division. The company also launched Airtel Secure Workforce, a managed cybersecurity service based on Zero Trust Architecture. The service targets companies managing staff access across offices and remote locations.

Additionally, the Digital TV business generated Rs 773 crore in revenue. The unit served 16 million customers during the quarter. Airtel expanded IPTV services as part of its broader home services strategy. The company uses broadband, television, and mobile products to serve households through one account.

Airtel Africa Supports Consolidated Growth

Airtel Africa posted 21.1% year-on-year revenue growth in constant currency terms. Sequential constant currency growth reached 5.7%. The business ended the quarter with 189 million customers. It added 14.9 million users across its African markets during the period.

Bharti Airtel also completed a share swap transaction that raised its stake in Airtel Africa above 79%. Managing Director Gopal Vittal called the move “a strong reflection of our conviction in Africa’s long-term growth potential". The transaction increased Airtel’s ownership in a business serving several fast-growing telecom markets.

Vittal said, “We delivered yet another quarter of strong performance, supported by the resilience of our diversified portfolio and sharp execution across businesses.” He added that India revenue grew 4.2% sequentially.

Across all markets, Bharti Airtel’s total customer base reached 681 million at the quarter’s end. The company now operates across 15 markets in India, South Asia, and Africa as of June.
