Apple’s next entry-level iPad could solve one of the biggest problems with the current model. Reports indicate that the upcoming model will pair an A19 chip and 8GB of RAM, along with a C1X cellular modem and the N1 wireless chip. The most important part is that none of these are speculations, but reports say these details have been uncovered in Apple software. So, the next basic iPad will be eligible for Apple Intelligence, which is missing in the current entry-level models.
The entry-level A16 iPad is the most purchased Apple iPad for its price and long-lasting efficiency. However, the Siri upgrade and others made it impossible to fit the AI features in a 16GB iPad. Code discovered on September 25 in Apple’s software hints at the tech giant planning to close the gap. Nothing officially announced, but reports speculate a 2027 launch.
Apart from the RAM and storage, the next model is expected to feature an 11-inch LCD screen, a flat aluminum body, and a Touch ID button. The jump to 8GB RAM could be the most important change.
The N1 chip could also bring Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. Cellular versions may use Apple’s C1X modem for 5G. These upgrades may not change how the iPad looks, but they could make it more useful over the next few years.
Three generations newer than the A16, the upcoming A19 iPad could bring the graphics and media engines of Apple's 2025 phones to a tablet. However, these are all currently speculations and can’t be verified until the company releases official statements.

The current iPad still handles basic tasks well. It is useful for streaming, browsing, reading, and everyday work. However, its higher price makes the choice less simple.
The A16 iPad now starts at Rs. 49,900 in India, after Apple raised its price from Rs. 34,900. With a new model on the way, buyers may now have another reason to wait.
