Apple introduced macOS Golden Gate and iPadOS 27 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), bringing a redesigned interface, deeper artificial intelligence integration, and expanded productivity tools across its devices.

The new software upgrades unify the overall user experience across iPhone, iPad, and Mac and increase the functionality of Apple Intelligence.

Fresh Design Language Across Devices

Apple introduced a new design language that will be used for all its future products. This refers to the improved design that reflects glass with added depth and transparency and animation in the menu bar, widgets, applications, and system controls.

According to Apple, the aim of this redesign was to enhance navigability and create a recognizable design for all users.

Apple Intelligence Expands to Mac and iPad

Artificial intelligence was another topic of discussion at the keynote session. Apple revealed several Apple Intelligence capabilities that will help users in their writing, summarizing information, task management, and handling notifications.

It is important to highlight that the tech giant focused on offering private AI services, meaning that in most cases, all requests would be handled on-device. If requests became complicated, users could use the firm’s Private Cloud Compute feature, which ensures the security of user data.

Also, developers will be able to use Apple’s AI models to integrate smart capabilities into their applications.

Siri Gets Smarter with Contextual Awareness

The tech giant also showed a few improvements to its personal assistant, Siri, such as making it more contextual so it can handle more complex tasks. Users should be able to talk to the personal assistant in natural language, and they can switch between voice and text input depending on what appears on the screen.

Visual Intelligence Comes to Desktop

One of the standout announcements was the arrival of Visual Intelligence on Mac. It lets you analyze the on-screen visuals, look up info, identify objects, and act on them all within the applications themselves.

According to Apple, Visual Intelligence would enable you to gather the necessary information without switching between several apps, further embedding AI into your daily computer routine.

Both operating systems will be tested by developers right away, with general availability slated for this year.
