Apple has officially launched its brand-new iPad Pro, featuring the company’s latest M5 silicon. Unlike in recent years, the Cupertino technology giant avoided a grand October launch event and instead launched the new iPads through a press release on its official website.

How is Design Different from Older Models?

iPad Pro M5 is available in two variants, 11-inch and 13-inch, both featuring an Ultra Retina XDR OLED display. The tablet supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers peak brightness of 1,600 nits, while full-screen brightness reaches 1,000 nits.

The 13-inch model measures 5.1mm in thickness, and the 11-inch model is 5.3mm, placing them in the category of slim and lightweight devices for professional and creative users.

What’s Inside the M5 Chip?

Apple’s M5 chip introduces major performance improvements. It has four performance cores and six efficiency cores, in addition to a 10-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims the GPU is 30% quicker than the M4 and 2.5 times faster than the M1.

The Neural Engine also improves AI-based features such as Image Playground, while AI developers using Apple’s foundation models framework will experience enhanced performance.

Are There Connectivity Upgrades?

iPad Pro M5 is equipped with a C1X mobile processor, specifically designed by Apple. It offers a higher data transmission rate of up to 50% and consumes just 70% of the power required by the previous-generation chip.

Additionally, the tablet integrates an N1 chip for a wireless network that enables the use of Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread to improve the AirDrop, Hotspot, and 5GHz connections’ reliability.

iPad Pro M5 is available for pre-order starting October 16. The official sale begins on October 22 through Apple’s website, authorized retailers, and its four official stores in India. The latest lineup is priced at Rs 99,900 for the 11-inch model and Rs 1,29,900 for the 13-inch model.
