Apple is expected to launch new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models on Wednesday, October 28. The laptops will reportedly have OLED touchscreens. It would be the first time the company has added touch to its Pro laptops. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the news will come at Apple's 'Pro and Tell' event in Los Angeles. It starts at 10 a.m (PST).
The design will look close to the current one. But Gurman says the new laptops will be lighter. The notch at the top of the screen will go. In its place will be a cutout like the iPhone's Dynamic Island.
The screen is a big upgrade. Today's models use mini-LED panels. OLED should give deeper blacks, better contrast, and richer colors.
Apple is also said to be changing macOS to work well with touch. You will be able to touch the screen, use the trackpad, or type. Touch will add to the old ways of working, not replace them.

Inside, the laptops will reportedly keep the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple launched these in March 2026. So the speed gain may be small. The price may go up. OLED screens cost more to make.
Right now, the 14-inch model starts at USD 2,499, and the 16-inch starts at USD 2,999. The new ones could cost up to USD 500 more. The tech giant is also expected to keep the current mini-LED models on sale for now. The event may bring other news too. Reports point to more Mac updates and a new iPad mini.
Apple has not confirmed any of this. The details come from reports. Wednesday's event should show what the company has planned for its next MacBook Pro.
