Bharti Airtel has announced an added benefit for its Indian prepaid users. The company is now offering a six-month Apple Music free subscription through the Airtel Thanks app. This offer was earlier limited to postpaid and broadband customers, but it is now available for prepaid users as well.
This move enhances streaming value for Airtel prepaid plans. The promotion targets customers who prefer prepaid flexibility. However, the offer is not applicable to all prepaid users yet. While Airtel has not disclosed the exact eligibility criteria, early reports show that even non-unlimited 5G plans qualify.
Many Airtel prepaid users have already seen a banner inside the Airtel Thanks app with the message, “Get Apple Music at no extra cost.” By tapping on the banner, customers can activate the subscription and link it with their Apple ID. The free access will last for six months. After that, the subscription will renew automatically at Rs. 119 per month unless cancelled.
Apple Music usually costs Rs. 99 a month for individual users and Rs. 149 for a family plan. Students can get the service for Rs. 59 with a valid ID card. The new Airtel offer makes it possible for prepaid users to enjoy ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and curated playlists without paying for the first six months.
Airtel confirmed that the offer is being rolled out in phases, so it may not appear for every prepaid user at once. Reports also suggest that the benefit is not limited to expensive plans. Even regular prepaid packs are showing the Apple Music option.
The launch comes at a time when Spotify has raised its subscription prices in India. Airtel’s move may encourage more prepaid users to try Apple Music instead of free or ad-supported music apps. This could also help Apple gain more paying customers after the trial period ends.
This offer is part of Airtel’s bigger plan to bundle digital services with its telecom packs. In February 2025, Airtel started offering Apple TV+ and Apple Music to postpaid and home Wi-Fi customers. It has also tied up with Google to give six months of free Google One storage and with Perplexity AI Pro to offer advanced AI tools.
Adding more value to its recharge plans, Airtel is introducing Apple Music for prepaid users. Entertainment and productivity services bundled in for prepaid customers provide said customers with the offers of data and calling. Besides, the move places Airtel further ahead in India's competitive telecom market, where digital perks sway choices.
