Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup recorded a sharp increase in delivery wait times during the second week of orders, according to JPMorgan. The latest data shows that the lead times have moved closer to levels seen for the iPhone 17 series last year.
The average wait time for the iPhone 18 Pro increased to 23 days in the second week, up from seven days in the first week. For the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the wait time rose to 30 days from 19 days. JPMorgan said the increase was significantly larger than the movement recorded for last year’s models.
The US market also recorded a major rise. The iPhone 18 Pro currently carries a 21-day wait, compared with just two days a week earlier. The Pro Max moved to 28 days from 22 days.
Germany recorded similar movement. Wait times for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max increased to 22 days and 29 days, respectively, from five and 16 days a week earlier. JPMorgan said, “Delivery timelines in Germany, the UK and US are now broadly comparable with the iPhone 17 series.”
The company further added, “Although this implies the current pace of demand over the last few days for the Pro lineup is exceeding the prior year cycle, with iPhone Duo not open for pre-order until Oct 16th, critical datapoints to watch would be the magnitude of moderation of lead times into Week 3.”
JPMorgan further explained that the upcoming iPhone Duo could complicate early demand comparisons. Apple’s foldable model is not expected to open for pre-orders until October 16.
The bank said the third-week movement in delivery times will be an important indicator. Supply-chain feedback on Apple’s production plans, generally expected around November, could provide a clearer signal of underlying demand.
