Apple has released iOS 18.4 officially, upgrading iPhone 15 Pro devices, featuring the long-awaited Visual Intelligence option. It also brings Apple's AI-boosted options to new regions like India.
The new iOS update brings users a feature that can recognize objects, translate text, and scan for phone numbers and email addresses in a photo. Users can access it immediately through the Action button or by a Control Centre toggle. This will help them quickly get information from photos and complete tasks like adding contacts or performing web searches.
In addition to Visual Intelligence, the update also brings a new Apple Vision Pro app through which iPhone users can download apps, games, and movies designed for Apple's mixed-reality headset. The app also features tips and reviews for discovering Vision Pro's immersive experiences.
Other improvements are new toggles for Siri and Visual Intelligence, as well as a new Ambient Mode toggle, which allows users to play ambient soundscapes in the background. The Image Playground app now has a Sketch style option, in addition to previous animation and illustration options.
Visual Intelligence, so far accessible only to iPhone 16 devices, uses Apple AI to provide a more natural and seamless user experience. The feature is now available on iPhone 15 Pro devices without having to change the device language to English (US). This broadens the eligibility criteria for users in India and other countries. So, it is now available for download for all supported iPhone models, including the iPhone 15 Pro.
The update also introduces Apple Intelligence to more people with wider language support, such as Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, and English (India, Singapore). This offers access to AI-based features by users worldwide without the earlier language restrictions.
